FunFest is a POP style festival, and is designed to give schools a chance to perform songs they wouldn’t normally be able to perform at UIL contests. So pull out your Hawaiian shirts and hula skirts and be part of 42 years of fun at Sandy Lake Amusement Park!

The Band portion of the festival will, again, be coordinated and announced by Allison Snyder. Allison has balanced the meticulous organization of the Judges’ scoring documents and group accompaniments with a delightfully encouraging announcement of the groups as they enter the stage. He has been gifted with many artistic skills, too numerous to mention on one page. Allison has never missed a beat at FunFest for 32 years.

The Orchestra portion of FunFest will, again, be coordinated and announced by Mr. Royce Coatney. He is Retired Director of Orchestra, Lamar High School, Arlington, TX. Following the untimely death of the beloved Mr. Weldon Minnick, who coordinated the orchestra stage since they began performing at FunFest, Royce became his successor and has never missed a beat since 1987. 2012 will be his 24th year to call the shots during Orchestra week at FunFest.
